Granola Bars

I have made these 3 times now...different each time.  This recipe seems to work the best!

Granola Bars

2 c. old-fashioned oats
1 c. spelt flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2  c. honey
1/4 c. agave nectar
1/4 c. melted butter(going to try apple sauce next time)
1 c. chocolate chips, nuts, seeds, coconut, or dried fruit

Combine oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in a bowl and mix.
Add the vanilla, honey, and agave and mix well.
Press the mix evenly into a greased 8x10 pan.
Bake at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Before cutting, cool completely.

They look too good to be healthy! I'll have to add spelt flour and agave nectar to me grocery list. Thanks, Angie!

Hi Angie. Thanks for the recipe. I would love to try homemade granola bars. Please let us know if you try it using applesauce - I would be very interested in a lowfat version if it works! Hope you're having a great weekend...oh, and I have a giveaway going on over at Windy Poplars for some natural homemade soap. Come enter your name for a chance to win!

These granola bars look so yummy. I don't like to bake much, but my daughter does and she is off to bake them right now. I think we'll try replacing the butter wtih apple sauce or vanilla yogurt. Thanks for sharing.
