Watch My Weight Wednesday! February Blog Hop!

How to get out of bed to get your exercise workout in!
  • Decide on your ideal wake up time. Start slowly, by waking just 15-30 minutes earlier than usual. Get used to this for a few days. Then cut back another 15 minutes. Do this gradually until you get to your goal time.
  • Go to bed earlier. Turn off the TV, shut the internet down, and a grab book!  I find reading before bed helps relax to fall asleep sooner.
  • Have your alarm clock far from you bed. If it’s right next to your bed, you’ll hit snooze button. Never hit snooze
  • Get going. After you turn off the alarm head towards the bathroom.
  • Do your workout.  You know you will feel great when you are done!  What a great way to start your day!

Great tips! I really enjoy my morning routine now. I make sure I get up about an hour or so before I need to leave for the gym. I enjoy eating a healthy breakfast and getting out to the gym. You definitely feel better once you've finished your workout! Going to bed at a decent time and getting 7-8 hours sleep a night is important. Working out helps me sleep. I'm actually tired before midnight now and I sleep soundly through the night. Believe me, just getting a good night's sleep is worth working out for.

Thanks for the tips!, I used to job every morning, and ride my stationary bike every night....and then "life" and laziness got in the way and now I don't do either!!...I am such a lazy morning person...and it doesn't help that I'm a Miami girl that recently moved to NC and it's coooold outside for jogs at 7am....
But you're totally right....it's a process that it's best achieved a little at a time until you're where you wanna be!

Thanks Angie!

The only problem is that my ideal wake up time is 9 or 10 am. lol. I usually workout at 5:30 AM even though I'm far from being a morning person.

At least this way I get it over with.
